Goosewing Cottage is located in Mount View, the jewel of the Hunter Valley wine-making region. We are on the main tourist trail between the heart of Pokolbin (a 15 minute drive) and the historic township of Wollombi (a 20 minute drive). We are only a two hour commute from Sydney, an hour from Newcastle and less than 5 minutes to award-winning restaurants and cellar doors.
Please see below for detailed directions, use the map above, or alternatively, we can be found as a point of interest on your Whereis® or Google Maps GPS software.
Leave the F3 at the Freeman’s Drive/Cessnock turnoff and follow it through to the traffic lights at Abedare Road and Vincent Street, Cessnock. Turn right onto Vincent Street and travel down the main street of Cessnock to Wollombi Road. Turn left, and follow this road for 5 km until you reach Bellbird, and then Kendall Street (on the corner is a park dedicated to the Bellbird Mining Disaster). There you will find a sign that points to the Vineyards. Follow this road up the hill (this road will become Bimbadeen Road and then Mount View Road) for 4.3 km until you reach the sharp left hairpin turn to Bimbadeen lookout (uphill all the way). At the next turnoff make sure to stay on Mount View Road and then follow it for a further 3km. Once you reach Kings Bridge, Goosewing Cottage is the next property on your right at the top of the hill.
If you come via the tourist route through Wollombi, when you reach Millfield, follow the vineyards sign to turn left onto Mount View Road. Goosewing Cottage is a further 6km. When you reach the T-intersection, turn right, pass Mitchell Road on your left and travel around further up the hill. Once you round the bend in the road, we are the next property on your left.
